Owners Prudence and Roger Kiessling’s passion for collecting vintage and quality pieces inspired them to create The Kingfisher & The Queen. Their hope is to make the shop feel like an extension of their own home, which is in nearby Alna, Maine, where they live in a rambling 1700’s era shipping merchant’s farmhouse. With a background in both English and advertising, as well as being a paper collage artist, Prudence’s passion for styling and decorating has led to a detailed and eclectic curated collection at the shop. Roger and Prudence welcome you to come embrace the everyday beauty of the home, whether it be with linen tablecloths, handmade pottery, or wooden toys from Europe.
